Terms of service
Version: terms_v1_20260419 Effective: 19 April 2026
These Terms govern your use of survey.ng. By creating an account or taking a survey, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
survey.ng is operated by <FILL IN — registered company name, RC number, address> (the "Operator"). These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
1. Who can use survey.ng
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must reside in, or be physically present in, Nigeria.
- You must use your real identity — name, phone, email, date of birth, BVN. Creating accounts under false identity, or operating multiple accounts, is a serious breach of these Terms.
- If you are using survey.ng on behalf of an employer, your use must comply with their policies as well.
2. Your account
- Keep your phone number secure — it is the keys to your account. If your SIM is swapped or lost, contact support immediately.
- We will never ask you for your PIN, password, or BVN by phone, SMS, or email.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your profile information; misrepresentation may disqualify you from surveys and forfeit points.
3. NairaPoints and payouts
- You earn NairaPoints by completing surveys. 1 pt = ₦0.20.
- Points are not currency; they are a contractual promise of future payout. Until cashed out, they carry no legal-tender status.
- Minimum withdrawal is ₦500 (2,500 pts).
- Payouts are made to a bank account in your own name, verified via BVN. We do not pay third parties.
- Payouts are reviewed before disbursement. Most clear within minutes; large or flagged requests may be held for manual review.
- We may reverse points credited through error, fraud, or policy breach. A ledger adjustment accompanies any reversal, with a recorded reason.
4. Survey participation
- Surveys are offered based on your demographic profile and quality score; not every panelist sees every survey.
- Participation is always optional. You can exit any survey at any time; partial completions may not be paid.
- Answer honestly. Straight-lining, speeding, contradictory answers, or failing attention checks reduces your quality score and may disqualify you from future surveys.
- Screener questions determine eligibility. If you don't qualify for a survey, you receive a small consolation payment and the screener answer itself is discarded — only the qualify/disqualify outcome is stored.
- Do not share survey content. Many studies are commercially confidential; sharing questions, answer options, or screenshots breaches these Terms and may trigger account suspension.
5. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Use automation, bots, or scripts to take surveys or interact with the service.
- Create multiple accounts, or give, sell, or transfer your account to anyone else.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your age, identity, or location.
- Interfere with the integrity of the platform (scraping, reverse-engineering, probing security).
- Use survey.ng to harass, defraud, or harm other users, researchers, or staff.
We may suspend or terminate your account — with forfeiture of an unpaid balance — for serious or repeated breaches. Where possible we contact you first; where fraud is active, we act first and explain after.
6. Quality score and pauses
- Every panelist carries a quality score, recomputed from a set of anti-gaming signals. The full list is explained in-app.
- If your score drops below a threshold, your account is automatically paused. Paused accounts cannot take surveys or request payouts. Points already earned remain yours.
- You can see what dropped your score, and what to do about it, in Profile → Quality.
- Appeals go through support@survey.ng.
7. Privacy
Your data is governed by our Privacy policy. In summary: we collect only what we need; we never sell your data; every consent is separately revocable; you can export and delete your data from Settings.
8. Fees
- survey.ng is free for panelists. We do not charge you to sign up or take surveys.
- Researchers pay a per-response fee plus a platform fee. Researcher pricing is governed by a separate agreement.
- Airtime redemption may be subject to network-side charges; we disclose these in the redemption screen.
9. Intellectual property
- survey.ng branding, copy, code, and design are the property of the Operator.
- Survey content (questions, images, stimuli) is the property of the researcher commissioning the study.
- You retain ownership of the answers you provide, but grant the researcher and survey.ng a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use the answers in aggregated and anonymised form for the purpose of the study and related research.
10. Service availability
We do our best to keep survey.ng available, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance is announced in advance; unplanned outages are posted at <FILL IN — status url>.
11. Warranties and liability
- survey.ng is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from the service is capped at the greater of ₦20,000 or twelve months of your average earnings on the platform, whichever is higher. This cap does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded by Nigerian law.
12. Termination
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. A 7-day cooldown applies; during that window you can cancel with one click.
- We may terminate or suspend your account for breaches of these Terms, suspected fraud, or legal obligation. Unpaid balances in good-faith accounts are payable as of the termination date.
13. Changes to these Terms
- We may update these Terms. When we do, we bump the version (e.g.
terms_v1_20260419→terms_v2_YYYYMMDD) and notify you. - For material changes, we show a one-screen summary on next login and require you to accept before continuing.
- Archived versions are available on request from support@survey.ng.
14. Governing law and disputes
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
- Any dispute will be settled first by good-faith negotiation, then by mediation under the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse (or such other Nigerian mediation service as we may agree), and failing that by the courts of Lagos State.
- Nothing here deprives you of any right you have as a consumer under Nigerian law.
